‘Turkaegean’: EU trademarks Türkiye’s tourism campaigns

The EU has recently approved Türkiye’s request to trademark the term ‘Turkaegean’ for the country’s tourism campaigns. One of the country’s most popular summer destinations, Türkiye’s Aegean coastline boasts numerous must-see historical sites among other attractions.

Greeks didn't just get triggered. Their arguments don't make sense. I've seen Greeks shamelessly claim "Turkey is using Greek ruins and Greek Bouzuki".

Homie first off those are
Roman. Not to mention Brittain, Libya or Egypt etc promoting their ancient Roman ruins is ok but Turkey can't?

More over that's NOT a "bouzuki" that's a bağlama. And the BOUZUKI is literally a copy of the bağlama. Even the name bouzuki comes from the Turkish word Bozuk literally meaning "broken". The Bouzuki is a Greek variant of a TURKISH instrument and you're going to shamelessly claim we are "stealing" your culture when we use the original??


The reality this is mostly about Greece's obsession with land locking Turkey and pretending like Turkey isn't part of the Aegean. And the association of Turkey with the Aegean has what got their panties in a bunch. And if you think "Bruh, bo country would be that petty" the you clearly dont know that Greece has been fighting Macedonia for decades now because they do bot recognize the country's name. Claiming only Greece has the right to use the name Macedonia / Macedonian. Yes Greece has for decades lobbied to mess with Macedonia out of pettiness and on fact their obsessive campaign and constant cry1ng at EU and UN is why Macedonia is often called FYROM (former yugoslav republic of Macedonia)
