Jazza just kind of drew his own face on the Mona Lisa and thought we wouldn't notice

I had never really looked at the background of the original. Ive seen her face so many times and had no idea there was even scenery behind her! baffled. great job loved the video

The things that are throwing me off the most about your version is definitely the cool colours and her facial features. Other than that, I'm highly impressed. No one could ever look at your painting and not know what it is supposed to be. And even though there's a difference between yours and the original background, it actually blows my mind how well you remembered and executed that part. Even though I've seen the Mona Lisa many times, I still think I wouldn't have known what to do with the background, if someone asked me to paint it from memory. You're truly an amazing artist, and you keep proving it time and time again.

Josiah, have you considered painting her the way she originally was painted? We now know that she wasnt painted in yellowy-earthy colors, she was colorful, but faded after centuries

You showed the Mona Lisa at the beginning of the video and I IMMEDIATELY forgot what it looked like 😂 The background was so tricky coz it’s kinda something you never think about unless you do so intentionally. I also started wondering halfway through the vid if her hands were in the right orientation but it was honestly a 50/50 😂 very impressive work from memory and entertaining to watch! Please do more 😁

Drawing/painting a portrait without reference and only by memory is VERY DIFFICULT! You did amazing, it certainly gives the Mona Lisa vibe instantly 👏👏👏👏

This video kind of shows how much better your art is when you use references, it would be interesting to see jazz paint the same painting with references just for the comparison.

I've seen pictures of the Mona Lisa done by Da Vinci's students at the time. They have been cleaned, which they'd never take a chance of damaging the real one. Those are much more colourful, and to make it look like the real one would take a wash over the painting to make it look like centuries of dirt and grime to get the colours we know.

Good job though

Great work!
I’d love to see you go all out on a traditional art piece. A character, a landscape, whatever you feel most comfortable and fancy doing. No challenges, no restrictions, just full on a demonstration of all your talent. It would be incredible, since you pull out incredible pieces with restrictions and things.
Just a thought!

The subtlety of the expression matches so well. I'm impressed (even without the eye bags).
Also, I did not realize the Mona Lisa had a veil until right now. I always thought the weird line thing was a circlet.

Your content deserves more attention than it already gets. It actually inspires people to do something rather than just consuming something

I remembered the actual background as being MUCH darker than it really is and her clothes as being more brown. You did an AMAZING job of recreating a painting from memory. This video gets a 10 out of 10!

Crazy Impressive. When looking at your piece you can clearly tell it's the Mona Lisa. There is that thought that something is wrong, but you can't say what exactly. If anyone saw it they would be able to say without a doubt it's the Mona Lisa, and I think that makes your piece fantastic.

In terms of recreating the Mona Lisa overall, before I saw the original, I would have said a 7, but after seeing the original I would go to 7.5-8. You are obviously more familiar with the painting than I am.

However, I think you undersell your skills, Jazza. No one's da Vinci, but you have to separate style from technique. Your are so good at what you do and your content always brings smiles. Keep up the great work.

Yo Jazza, i have to admit that you are the only "youtuber" i actually trust and trust meaning when you say you paint it blind, you do so.

This kind of content is what I've been missing from your channel. Your recent videos have been amazing, genuine, and somehow nostalgic.
Thank you for listening to yourself and to your community.

Keep going, Jazza! :)

Bravo. Doing that from memory is one heck of a task. I think you did a great job. I honestly had never even noticed the background or her veil.

Really good. Missed the column edges and low wall behind her, but most people don’t remember those details. Well done!

This was awesome! I’d love this to be a series! Could do the Sistine Chapel Ceiling or Van Gogh’s portrait. Maybe even sculpture too! Really good stuff!
