PM Justin Trudeau on COVID-19 response and Russia-Ukraine tensions – January 19, 2022

On Parliament Hill, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Health Minister Jean-Yves Duclos provide an update on the federal government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The prime minister also comments on the situation at the Ukrainian border, saying that Canada is working with international partners to make clear to Russia that any further incursion into Ukraine is unacceptable. Later, he responds to questions from reporters about his government’s plan to combat inflation, following the release of new Statistics Canada numbers showing the annual rate of inflation reached a 30-year high in December 2021.
