Anyone agree with me that Chris Rea is one of the most underrated Singer/Musicians of all time!

As a man older than 60 I find this song deeply moving. Having grown up in the sixties and seventies and after listening to a universe of music this song speaks more relevant than ever.

This song is a beautiful and very poignant reflection of the times we've lived and a reminder of what's really important in living our lives on this earth in the time we are given. Thank you C. R., for sharing your love through music for us.❤
Peace and love everyone...keep going and never ever, let go of the fire and the passion for all that is good and worthy of being given a chance to share your love with those who need it the most!

Chris Rea is so unappreciated and underrated to me. One of a kind.

If ever there was a song which summed up the UK in 2024, it's this one .

My Dad drove truck for 15 years. When I was real small he played this album for me when I got to join him on one of his routes. To this day this album is one of my favorites and not just because it holds such fond memories of my father but because this album still has some of the most powerful imagery in music today. He deserves an Emmy and a place in the Rock and Roll hall of fame...if he doesn't already.

Chris Rea's "The Road to Hell" is a commentary on modern life and its stresses. Released in 1989, the song paints a bleak picture of a world dominated by consumerism, environmental destruction, and societal decay. Rea uses the metaphor of a road to convey a sense of entrapment and inevitable decline, capturing the feeling of being caught in an inescapable cycle of modern existence. The song's haunting melody and somber lyrics reflect a sense of disillusionment and foreboding about the direction in which society is heading. The song’s ability to resonate with listeners decades after its release is a testament to its profound impact and Rea’s artistry.

My Dad passed away 2 months ago, Today my sister found her Scrap book(where people used to write alot of things like their favourite movies and songs and all sorts of things, it was the trend back when i was school since no one had phones), my dad had also wrote in one of the pages and in his favourite song was this. I never knew the name of the song but the moment the music started i realized, my dad used to listen it everyday. Miss my dad gone to soon. RIP Appa. Miss u everyday.
