Honestly, this should have been the end, a team attack of the 3 strongest captains of current gotei 13 finally destroy this god-like warrior. As for the cross, i hope the anime actually sticks to this plan and keep Gerard dead. You could make kenpachi go and destroy the cross and it wouldnt matter. The anime can just show a scene afterwards where after the cross is destroyed, its whole power is sent to yhwach so its fairly similiar to how it was in the manga
