Why does the world feel the need to enforce their values on other people's beliefs!!??? .... We can't keep trying to westernize the entire world. Let people practice their beliefs in peace and without judgement.

Human bodies are used as training place for young doctors. Why it cannot be used for monks spiritual practices. Only thing they should be concerned is whether monks killed those dead. Or not. Other wise why govt encourage people to donate their bodies to hospitals.

If death bodies are legally donated, nothing special to see here.
Donating death bodies to temples is not a news in 🇱🇰🇱🇰 also. But it is not common due to low demand. Death bodies are accepted only by a fraction of temples, which practice certain forms of meditation.
However 40+ bodies in a single temple is excessive, which itself is against a basic principle of Buddhism. 😬🤔

So, what's the problem of having corps for meditation?

That's a well known method in Buddhist teaching.

They should find out what is being fed to the crocodiles. Something may be fishy.

In Zen writings of Daisetz Suzuki there are rituals around observing corpses to become familiar with death. Don't mock something you don't understand. They are not bothering other people.

M a Buddhist, studied Buddhism and death meditation. We believe in next life, don't know exactly where to be reborn after death because of karma. Death meditation reminds us that we are subjected to die and uncertainty of our this n future life, so that we can prepare for a better future. In that case, if you have guts, you can meditate at cemetery (mostly at night because of less distrub), not in temples with death body. 🙏
As for 600 crocodiles, m curious too to know how they are being feed.

It is a normal practise of monks to use human skeletons in meditation to see the reality of the temporariness of the life... and in some temples keep the dead bodies of the monks as it is in his meditating cell without removing them.. to see what really happens to our beautifully protected body after the death... so just investigate and tell that these people have been murdered by the abbot or not without reporting nonsense....

This is a meditation practice started in India way back (3000 years ago). It is one way of meditation buddha approved for the monks. The monks observe the decay of the body to understand the impermanence nature.

This 'drama', coming from an Indian reporter was extremely laughable. This kind of meditation has been in INDIA (and south and east Asia) for atleast 2000+ years. In contrast to gospel based blind faith religions, these meditations seek to understand life, death, body and mind, leading to epiphanies. Whether they are successful or not, I have no clue, just that these practices has been there for a long long time. Nor is it witchcraft or sorcery related. there ae other meditation sanctuaries in jungle which follow this practice. This particular incident may be due to these practices are inconsistent with now legal requirements of keeping remains and disposing of those OR a suspicion of foul play, which is to be uncovered by the police.

Can't death meditation be done at cemetery? Who are the dead bodies n their families? Can trace?
How these ppl died is a big conspiracy.
What they feed to the crocodiles also a question.

That is taking Momento Mori to an extreme. How do they feed 600 crocodiles?

WTH? Totally going against the Honorable Buddha's Wisdom. This would have Freaked him out. That's what happens when "branches" grow out of any original spiritual faith. Buddha was not into "Shock"".
WION, what's going on in Manipur?
