I just got a delivery of a Phal mini mark and the schilleriana after seeing your mini-phal recommendation videos! The blooms on the mini mark are ridiculously cute. I recently found out about a “Oncostelopsis.” It’s an inter-generic hybrid with a similar appearance to the Nellie Isler. But it was hybridized in Hawaii is supposed to be a hot grower. Being a Nellie Isler fan I imagine you’ve heard of such a thing, but I was thrilled at the possibility and wanted to make you aware in case you haven’t.

I totally agree with your first statement - select the orchids you know will tolerate your environment. I am in love with Miltoniopsis orchids. Their little pansy faces are so adorable. But, I know I cannot maintain the level of humidity that they need in my environment, so I have a “No Miltoniopsis” rule.
I hadn’t thought about shelf height when choosing how to place your orchids in your grow space. I may switch some plants around in my plant room.

I just started caring for orchids and have a total of 8 now. The biggest problem I have are gnats!! They are in many of the pots flying all around...tiny but very annoying. I'm using 6" plastic orchid pots with mixed bark and moss and do not over water. I'm ready to throw them all out...it's an impossible situation. Any advice?
