i love how personal this video feels. Thank you for sharing that intimate stuff, it really made me feel your passion for not just photographing as a "business" but the inner need to capture and preserve those memories with your loved ones. Beautiful!

Sick shots bro! The X-Pro 2 is a special cam for sure.

Bro! You're the reason I got the X Pro 2. I recently had some contemplation with selling it as well, but decided to add a lens to my kit instead. I can see myself following your path with the medium format or possibly X Pro 4, but probably not for 4-5 years.

I just got mine 2 months ago. It’s totally made me fall in love with photography again

FilmedByFresh - LOVE your videos, they're always inspiring to me!
Sold my XPro 2 about 2 years ago but had to go back. Just picked up another and am SO glad I did. Yes, it's a tool but it's a tool that makes the craft so much more pleasurable.
Now you've got me considering a GFX!?!
Thanks Brother!!

totally agree with you on falling in love with the creative process and not the tool! i really enjoyed your classic 89 recipe on my x-pro2 but had to replace with the x-pro3 to get digital distance scale to work with my voigtlander 27mm f2. looking forward to content on both x100vi and gfx 50r.

Thoughtful and personal to me, too, because I have kept my X-Pro2 bought way back in 2015 and a few Fuji lenses. During the years since I ditched Canon system for Sony - which has ended up at A7R5 - for what to me is medium format in all that the label implies. Like the film days when the client insisted on the Hasselblad kit and right away the shoot would be more formal, less free-flowing. But the XP2 is still the closest to the Leica M2 I used and appreciated for so many years '67 to '92... Now paring down the Fuji glass to what fits the way I use the XP2. Also keeping an X-Pro 1 for loaning out while teaching photography when I get the chance.

And yeah, like you, I used to obsessively watch for ANY rumor of an impending X-Pro4. I've given up thanking about it.

Watched your first vid about the XP2 back some years! I remember how much I liked that exploration, that sharing of images.

Bro! You sold your XPro2 and I just buy mine last night hahaha ... I have the "should I do this??" mind because I already have XE2s and XT20 on my repository, but then after having seen one of your video about xpro2 and all the romantism the internet built on that particular gear, I just bought it. I was lucky it is in a very mint condition haha. Anyway, this camera is unique. It forced me to redesign how I use a camera, more specifically the focus mechanism using OVF. In particular the need to build the imaginary autofocus point in my head before pressing the shutter 😁😁

Congrats bro for the the new journey. 50R is a great choice. Hopefully, X-Pro4 will not be released soon :D .

Love the images you shared here. I'm hoping to own the xPro2 one day. Almost pu;;ed the trigger on gfx 50r recently, but ended up grabbing a new laptop.

Your vibe is honest. Thank you. Keeping my XPro2 for long.. or until they decide to release the 4.

Good video my man. My father told me a long time ago "Dont fall in love with something that cannot love you back". We were talking about automobiles back then, but you get the gist. Gfx50r is a good choice. I have the XPro 2 with the 23 f2 WR and looking forward to shooting more with it.

@5:37 I'm famous!!! 😎 I feel this in a big way. Getting rid of my X100V was so painful. But sometimes you outgrow things, creatively. It's always about finding something new to master. 50R is just the next on the list for you, can't wait to see what you make. 🔥

The best camera I ever used and I still miss it to this day. After my X-Pro3 was stolen I decided to sell all my Fuji gear and move back to Nikon after 12 years with the X-Pro's. The ZF is by most measures, a far superior camera, but I sure do miss the feel and images that came with the X-Pro's. I can definitely see another one on the horizon somewhere.

Do fall in love with the tools. But fall in love with the craft equally

I’m glad you bought your XPRO2 several years ago at a good price. Bet you sold your camera at a premium.

Cameras are but a tool. As you progress, sometimes your gear doesn’t keep up with you. Then you move on. Someone was able to buy your XPRO2 and I hope they fall in love with it.

I own a XPRO2 and haven’t used it in a while. In addition to the X100VI I love the XT30. I have been doing intentional camera movement photography for a year. The XT30 has a feature I thought I’d never use. There is a lever that puts the camera in full automatic. This was designed when you give your camera to a nonphotographer so they don’t have to worry about the settings. I use the lever after I take the ICM image. I flip the lever and get a properly exposed base image. I then go back to my ICM settings. Very convenient.

I hope you love your new GFX camera. Play around with the xpan ratio of 65x24. I’ve started playing with that and it is fun. The xpan setting gives the image a distinct look.

If you're gonna leave your X-Pro-2 for another camera, the GFX50R is probably the way I'd go too.

That being said, I ain't selling mine. I think it's a future classic, in fact I recently picked up what I think is another future classic...

An all black Olympus Pen F.

This tiny, solidly built, beautiful camera has opened my eyes to the world of MFT. 😊

I can understand that cameras are tools however it is also ok to enjoy them for their own sake. I consider myself to have 2 hobbies. Photography and cameras and they have very little do to with one another. I can enjoy photography but also acquire cameras purely to enjoy them. That’s why I have all 3 Xpros 😊

The camera journey is real! I gotta remind myself often as well that these cameras are "tools" at the end of the day and it's more important to focus on the process and goals 🙌 that being said, RIP X-Pro 2 lol

I get it. That GFX50 line has been on my radar as well but a bit beyond my budget plus I feel its best suited for doing large prints which I no longer do. I thought about getting the x-pro2 also but I’ve got the X-E2, which I’ll never sell, and they are too similar. The X-E4 is supposed to come out later this year.
