Many digital painters are using tablets as a replacement for "sketchpads, " or even a replacement for their whole workflow. For film, I use it with my budgeting, scheduling, and script distribution. Most of my regular crew uses iphones or ipads in the field, so it is a great replacement for daily stacks of documents (not quite worthy of 4K). I still use a proper workstation for editing, but more and more I find the tablet as the start point for ideas, and the platform I use to distribute them.

This tablet appears to have a real high resolution digitizer screen which supports a pressure sensitive stylus. Real drawing, real digital data. Not just another Swipe and Wipe. Correct?

not exactly, 4k means that there are 4000 pixels (give or take) running horizontally across the screen and they tend to have around 2000 pixels going up vertically. 1080p means that there are 1080 pixels running vertically up the screen and usually have 1920 pixels horizontally this is "full HD" and is about 2 Mega-pixels. 1600p is twice that of 1080p running at 2560X1600 (little more than 4 Mega-pixels) and was previously the largest commercial screen resolution until 4K. Basically 4K=2x(1080p)

that's because according to statistics 2012, PC sells are going down, people in general are now buying tablets over PC and Laptops. Some people even think PC will no longer exist at some point. but highly doubt it.

A resolution above HD 1080p. Theres many types of 4K but the most common for TVs is 3840×2160

noo you were right pixel density of the ipad 4 is 264ppi and this screen is 220. pixel density is just a relation between the size of the screen and the amount of pixels in it. this screen reallly has more pixels compared to the ipad but it is also a lot larger, reducing its pixel density. this screen= 8Mp ipad4= 3Mp. and yes 4k is a minimum spec for artists and the upcomming movie industry

Concept of 4k resolution in tablet is looking pretty cool, so what are their release plans?

I use a tablet to sketch out my story boards and as a launch board for my digital paintings and films. My living depends on that work, so I would say I am a film professional that uses a tablet and gets much out of the form-factor that enables me to to use the workstation less. I think that "only one or the other" is a silly philosophy. The music is not in the piano - it doesn't matter what tools you use, but the artist that uses them. 4K would greatly add to my workflow...

I think that this will have more use as an all in one desktop is it has a stand and a keyboard.

Well have you thought about Kind of "all in one Pcs" that can be layed on the table and be more useful with the touchscreen instead of pressing on a monitor.

People are speculating that it'll take at least 4 to 5 more years for 4k to be an affordable option for the masses. So, it doesn't really matter if the next generation of consoles isn't running at 4k.
