Vectors & Scalars

Vectors & Scalars is a very important concept in mathematics, physics and engineering. So it is better to take good concepts of vectors and scalars in school mathematics. In this vector & Scalar video lesson we are learning the basic introduction to the vectors and scalars, what is vector quantity and what is scalar quantity.
Vectors = Vectors are those quantities which have magnitude as well as direction and follow the vectors algebra rules. For e.g- displacement, velocity, force, momentum etc are vector quantities.
Scalars= Scalars are those quantities which have magnitudes but no direction. For e,g. Mass has only value not the direction. Similarly, time, temperature, current these all are scalar quantities.

I m sorry to say but Risha, 5cm is just representing a distance with certain value (5cm) its a scalar quantity.. becoz the direction is not mentioned, cm is just unit showing us its distance not other quantity like mass, time or any such.Adding unit at last after any number doesn't mean simply its vector quantity.And now if I say 5cm straight up or 5 cm straight down or 5 cm towards east or something like that with direction headed then its vector quantity( 5cm = magnitude & 2nd part direction

hey.our teacher was told that if a body is moving in a 5 cm distance then only 5 is scalar and 5 with cm i.e 5cm is vector quantity so please where is confusion tell me thnx
