I would be putting a formal complaint to the manager and asking for an explanation for
the way you have been treated and no it is not acceptable for this person to treat you
In that way.

I work in a property sector, this is very unprofessional and I would ask for their complaints procedure, I would be fuming if this happened to me! I hope you do find what you are looking for! ❤️xx

Completely understand your feelings. I am also first timer. Found a house in April that we liked. Offer was excepted but the seller has to find something new before they exchange. ever since, nothing has happened... and we are we also haven't found anything better in the meantime. Quite frustrating. Good luck with your search.

Honestly Lara it is a nightmare. Myself and my partner are first time buyers. We have saved for years and even changes jobs so that we can afford to buy a house and we currently can't even get on a waiting list to view houses. There are so many people going for the same houses i feel that we will never get there x

That is outrageous! How awful of the estate agent, and I feel it's totally unprofessional.
Wishing you luck in your search x

It’s so NOT ok, I really dislike sales agents at the moment and have taken a step back from my house hunting, just needed a break from all the disappointments… take care and I hope you have good news soon x

That feels so unprofessional. When we bought our first house we fell in love with it and waited to put our offer in because it had been on the market for over 18 months. Typical that it literally had an offer accepted the day after we viewed it 🤦🏻‍♀️

We were so in love so we asked the agent to contact us before putting it back on the market if the buyer pulled out and we got the call 6 weeks later and we got it so I know that excitement when a call comes through saying that the house you thought you’d lost might be within your reach again.

All the best with finding your forever home x

We are first time buyers in Scotland. We viewed our first house well over a year ago now. It was the house next door to the house I grew up in. It was a casual Saturday morning viewing as we knew the man well. He told us no one else interested no offers in no other viewings booked. One person had viewed privately before it hit the market but wasn’t interested. The man selling told us we were 💯 going to be successful on Monday morning he would accept our offer. We rang the estate agents 9am Monday morning as soon as the lines opened. Put in our offer above asking price. Heard nothing, called back at mid day to get a very similar reception to you oh not at their desk called back half an hour later gone for lunch, no one ringing us back thought something strange is going on called back at 4pm to be told the house had sold that morning. Blew my mind!! 6 months later it’s been turned into an Air BnB!!

That's so bad, I would put in a complaint and if the owner are still in the property I would give them a shout, maybe post a letter to explain you where messed around with the estate agents and is the property still on. The reason I say that is because we were buying a house and the communication with the estate agents and solicitor was shocking so we went round and the owner was amazing, she gave us her number and it's moved things a 100 times faster. Also this happened to our family member when putting in a offer and someone went to the owner with cash, and our family member went to talk to the owner and explained they want the house long term and have a family and the owner was more that happy to reject the cash offer. I know sometimes it can feel a little cheeky but it's a touch market at the moment and sometimes it can help to do it direct. My fingers and toes are crossed you will find your home soon xx

Nothing more annoying that being messed around! Your not being sensitive at all, your being realistic as it’s a huge commitment, especially in the current climate how they are selling like hot cakes. Sending hugs and luck, the right house will come your way xxx

I went to view a house. Loved it. Put an offer in just 5k under asking price as was budgeting on some work that needed doing to it. Estate agent told me that the offer was not accepted. A week later the house sold for 50% lower than asking price. The house was sold to a family member of the vendor and I was told that the estate agent knew that the vendor would only sell to this family member but they did not tell me this at the time. I felt so angry that they let me go there to view knowing this beforehand. Some practices by estate agents are not great!!!!

That is so unprofessional and definitely not ok!! Estate agents should 100% know the emotions involved in buying a house and to do that to you is disgraceful! Keep up the hope! You will get there! 💕🏡

Very unprofessional! When I bought my house, I did it on my own so I didn’t really have a clue what I was doing. I put an offer in on a house and my offer was accepted. I (very excitedly) started looking for furniture etc as it was my first home… I was able to go to the estate agents and have a visit at the house for measurements of rooms etc and then 2 weeks later, I got a phone call to say the house had actually already sold previously with another estate agent and it was now a ‘highest offer’ situation between myself and another potential buyer, between 2 estate agents. It was shocking! But I stood my ground and didn’t up my offer and ended up still buying the house for the offer I originally put in at the start. Hope you find your dream house 🏡 you deserve it xxx

why not print flyers and post them through doors on the roads and the area where u want to buy, you can put your blurb that you are ready to move quickly and not getting any luck with the estate agents. it will save the seller a lot of money
