More than 70% of Nagorno-Karabakh's population flees as future uncertain for those who remain

More than 70% of the population of Nagorno-Karabakh has fled the ethnic Armenian enclave in Azerbaijan for neighbouring Armenia, the Armenian government said Friday, as the enclave's separatist government said it will dissolve itself by the end of the year after a three-decade bid for independence.

Wherever Armenians live, they want to declare it as the republic of their people. Karabakh is the ancient land of Azerbaijan you will see if you look at the geographical map Karabakh is an Azerbaijani word and means "black garden". There is no such word in the Armenian language. Why are they so afraid, why don't they stay in Karabakh? Have Azerbaijan ever committed war crimes on them? All I know is that Azerbaijan is calling them to stay but they are fleeing regardless.
