We were taught this in elementary school for my art subject. We used fake fish and it was fun!! Our schools art teacher at the time was Japanese and she taught us all she could of Japanese art. She retired and everyone was so sad😢 We all gave her a 90 degree bow when she left.

Imagine some Japanese peasant catching up with his buddy going to the shore with a big clay platter:
"ayo, Ryo, check this shit I caught last week"

I remember doing this in an elementary school class with ink and rice paper! So cool!

So cool to me that humans have been showing off there “big catches” for centuries. Literally probably since the first fishermen. Wild.

Guy: a stamp.

When i fish i always thank the fish for its sacrifice. Catching fish for food has always been my reason for fishing. I love this it pays great tribute to the life sacrificed

Fact: Originated in the Song Dynasty (around 900-1200AD) of China, “Yutuo” is a souvenir left by ancient Chinese literati after fishing and hunting. It was later introduced to Japan and Korea they called it as “Gyotaku”
Originally using ink rubbing, it was only black and white, and the production of Yutuo was relatively rough. Later, a variety of colors of pigments were used for rubbing, and the Yutuo produced was colored and became an art.

If you fired it fast enough the platter would be the perfect size to serve the actual fish on
Liquidglitch

I remember doing this in the second grade. Our teacher brought in a bunch of trout that her husband had caught and then we used them to print, this video just jettisoned me back twenty five years.
