I'd personally add Journey Beyond the Abyss to this list. It's a survival, quest guided, tech heavy modpack that isn't that well known, but it's highly customized and looks like the devs sure put time and effort in it.

Omg no Voltz here or Hexxit?... But then again it might be too much of a deep dive regarding Minecraft mods. I will admit all of these definitely retain vanilla Minecraft elements without overwhelming a new player to modding. Great list man! 🙌

I'm pretty new to minecraft pc so I've got a question. Do I have to play in a lower version than I'm currently playing on? Like if I get a 1.7 mod do I have to play on a1.7 or can I still play on 1.16/1.17?
