Four people are dead, including two children, after they were pulled from a three-alarm house fire in Hamilton overnight.

Hamilton fire crews responded to a blaze at a row of townhouses at 14 Derby Street, near Rymal Road East and Upper Gage Avenue, shortly after 11 p.m. on Thursday.

I live a few units down, I can’t believe I couldn’t smell a thing last night when it happened. The only thing that alerted me was the sirens when the fire trucks and everyone showed up

She keeps saying engulfed in flames...that home wasn't engulfed in flames, or you would see incredible damage...
This doesn't look like a fire killed this family..

Smoke detector every room on every floor. Even with warning from one you have less than 2 minutes to get all your kids and get out. That time is reduced if you dont have enough smoke detectors. Was a firefighter have draged people out because they only had one detector and couldn't find there way out in the smoke. So sad wish this wouldent happen.
