A one-minute video explaining the Marvel Cinematic Universe version of Iron Man's Mark 2 suit of armor, its powers, abilities and characteristics as depicted in Marvel's Iron Man movies, and Avengers expanded universe.

The suit was constructed as a prototype with the intention of experimenting with flight potential with the utilization of Stark Industries’ patented repulsor technology. Although flight became a standard feature among all his armors moving forward (with the exception of one), the Mark II is the first to achieve sustained flight with the use of the repulsors on both the gloves and boots. Along with various new technology and weapons, the new suit’s most powerful addition was the integration of Tony’s JARVIS AI Operating system, allowing him to control the suit's systems, manage the rest of the armor's functionalities, and assist guidance when flying at high speeds.

Its not a gold-titanium alloy to be honest. The standard iron-man armor plating is made up of Nikel-Titanium alloy aka NiTinol. And therefore, most of his basic and advanced armor types is not even made up of metal. This is because metal does not work well in cirtain envirouments. His specialty armor's are usually made of meterials that suit the mission at hand. For example, his space armor in the comics is made up of Honeycomb shaped polymer tiles with a more streamline designing for the depth of space. And the polymer tiles could self-repair if it was damaged.
