In this video, I show how to build an Automatic Cactus Farm in Minecraft 1.20! (Tutorial)
This Cactus Farm is very easy to build and super efficient. It will give you lots of cactus per hour and is easily expandable!
The list of materials required to build this farm is easy to obtain and is shown at the beginning of the video.
This Farm works on Java edition in version 1.20 and below. I did not test it on the Bedrock edition.

Thank you. I already knew the concept behind how cactus farms worked, but I didn't want to fiddle around with making my own design. This tutorial is definitely really good and to the point.

TIPS:

1. cacti delete any dropped blocks that come into contact with them. bring spares when placing fences or place the cacti after you have placed the fences. i learned that the hard way haha

2. glowstone is annoying to get if youre still early in the game. use 4 torches per layer, and make sure you place a block in place of the glowstone as thats where you'll need to put the water for the second layer.

3. **YOU DONT NEED GLASS!** unless you want to see your farm in action, just use any other block. finding sand and smelting it takes way too long, i also learned that the hard way.

4. only want to make one layer? halve the amount of full blocks, cacti, sand and fences you use.

5. you dont need to use two hoppers, just put your chest directly underneath the first hopper, and place slabs where the chest expands if you want to use a double chest so that you can still open it.

6. if you make the farm as shown in the video, **YOU NEED TWICE THE AMOUNT OF SLABS!** (that is, if you want to make a roof. i suggest it to prevent mobs falling in, but of course you dont have to)

7. build an automatic smelter if youre making this farm for dye, its very helpful

8. place an infinite water source nearby so you dont need to walk back and forth between your nearest natural water source. you can make an infinite water source by digging out a 2x2 area and placing one bucket of water in one corner and placing another in the diagonal block to the other bucket.

9. **YOU ONLY NEED 12 FENCES!** if you look at the way the tutorial has placed the fences, you can get rid of the middle row. why? the cactus get deleted if any block touches them directly, so removing the middle row is okay because the blocks that the fences would otherwise touch are covered by the fences on the left and right!

This is a tried-and-true cactus farm I have used it in java a few times and wanted to see if it would work in Bedrock and was pleasantly surprised that it did. Thank you for a great farm and tutorial.

at some random point, after couple dozen levels farmed, farm just stop working, 9\10 dropped cacti just destroy itself by dropping back inside the plant. its weird because it was working normal for like 3 hours or so.

Any way to stop the cactus item from getting destroyed by the placed cactus?

Nice tutorial, i use your farm in my world as well. Small improvement is that you dont need the fence posts in the middle.

is the row of fences in the middle neccesary? Isn't it just enough to place two rows of fences, one on the left and one on the right and just leave the middle empty?

Ok maybe i am the only one with that kind of problem, but if you make a hopper on the same level as the bottom floor of your farm, for some reason cactus blocks will flow to it and stop, and wont go into the hopper, so i had to make hopper one block below, so they flow to the hole, then they drop in the hole and THEN the hopper meet them there and they go inside no problem.
