This is Janis's best song ever. Truly beautiful. I remember her singing it in the 70's for the first time and I was stunned. Of course I bought Stars the album and it is sensational. Good on ye Janis - amazing

It's hard to have favorites of Ms. Ian's work - such skill in blending music with words! But this one, Stars, stands out. I seem to remember Frank Sinatra singing this on a television special some years ago. He could handle it. Most people who try to cover Janis Ian cannot - because the extra added to the mix of music and song in Ms. Ian's music is herself.
