Back in the day the person would walk around the car with you to confirm any current dsmages before you drive away so you are not held responsible for them.

The gas gauge pictures are important. I used them recently to prove to Budget that I brought it back with more than it had when I picked it up.

Not just pictures. Do a short walk around video and include the mileage and fuel level. Make sure to do this in the parking lot and catch the rental place in the background so that you can prove it was taken at pickup.

Theyll leave scratches and dents as they can make $$$ from many people before sending it in for repair.
