It all started on a day like any other
All the dwarves were digging in the mines
When Goldbar turned to Nalle and said with a plea
Won't you come with me far to the east

Our legs, though they ached, there was hope
The mountains of wind were in sight
Though it took quite a while, an' we walked many miles

I just knew that it all was completely worthwhile
To carve a hall that is good

We built FG with our own two hands
Through the wars and the raids and the siege

Dale broke, Mordor grew, and they came to our halls, to undo all we’d won in the war

So I summoned my men to my side

Leaving peace as we started anew

We stood our ground with an axe in hand
Through the coups and the deaths and the lies
And we swore that we'd keep an unwavering faith
To the land that we carved for a home

Oh the dawn of the day set our mountain aflame
As the sun rose bloody and true
Arrows burned through the skies as we fought for our lives
And we ran from our mountain in gloom
To our allies
Refugees in their eyes

On our hearts left battered and bruised
All the hopes that we’d laid in the home that we made
We all knew that we would retake you

Joined our ranks and they marched by our side
