What's worse is every single time I have any sort of debate with anyone about veganism it's because they bring it up and challenge me on it. Yet the #1 complaint people have about vegans is that we're "always pushing their views on everyone."

I actually have some gripes with the word vegan, to the extreme that I do vegan outreach where I don't even use the word (replacing it with "a complete boycott of all forms of animal exploitation"). But I do sometimes get people who announce it for me. Thankfully, that joke floats around much less in France, so I've only heard it on the internet.

lol, this one is brilliant! That's exactly my parents behavior! I became a vegan when I was a teen and I tried hard to hide it from my Mom for a while because she was totally worried about me <3 First I had to give her some solid arguments that I wouldn't die. It was 20 years ago =) (I'm still alive, haha)
