Operation Deterring Aggression: Factors of Success

The Syrian Rebel offensive, known as Operation Deterring Aggression, was successful due to several factors, including the support of Allah, the quality and experience of the fighters, and the accumulated experience gained from 13 years of war 02:16.

The opposition forces had academic and training camps, producing high-quality soldiers with faith and a cause, as well as technical training 04:27.

The Military College, established in 2021, provided advanced curriculums and training for officers, with a focus on experience, tactics, and strategies from other wars 04:53.

The unity among different factions, achieved through the operation room, was crucial in succeeding, as they worked together, restructured themselves, and developed a unified military doctrine 07:59.

The Regime's Aggression and the Operation's Goal

The regime's aggression and oppression against the liberated area, including attacks with FPVs and artillery, led to the operation's goal of deterring aggression and protecting the 4 million people living in the area 09:11.

Planning and Preparation for Overthrow

The operation to overthrow the Syrian regime involved four years of preparation and one year of actual planning, with a focus on tactical and operational details, including infiltration and envelopment strategies 09:52.

Opposition's Use of Domestically Produced Weapons

The opposition forces used domestically produced weapons, including UAVs, which made a significant difference in the outcome of the battle, and attacked more than 20 C2 operation rooms just two hours before the deadline 12:10.

Weaknesses of the Regime's Army

The regime's army was weakened by corruption, poor living conditions for soldiers, and dependence on Russian air coverage and Iranian militias, which were not present due to conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East 15:59.

Opposition's Sleeping Cells and Regime's Collapse

The opposition forces had sleeping cells inside each city, including Aleppo, Hama, and Damascus, which played a crucial role in the regime's collapse, and the regime's soldiers were demoralized and withdrew to cities 12:46.

The regime's collapse was swift, with the opposition forces expecting a longer battle, but the regime's weakness and the opposition's strategic planning led to a rapid victory 16:56.

Central Military Operations (CMO) and the Alliance

The Central Military Operations (CMO) forces had an alliance with the North and South, and they had a plan to attack at a certain point, which was part of the preparation for Operation Deterring Aggression 19:05.

The South Axis and Victory

The victory in the operation was largely due to the moral and tempo of the attack, and the South axis was crucial in the victory, especially in withdrawing from Damascus 20:10.

Rearmament and the New Ministry of Defense

The new Syria will have to embark on rearmament, but the existing military armament was outdated, and the new Ministry of Defense will analyze the situation and rebuild the army according to a new strategy and doctrine 22:29.

The Future of Russian Bases in Syria

The possibility of Russian bases remaining in Syria is open to debate and discussion, and the strategic benefit of this would depend on the new government's vision and doctrine 25:02.

Turkey's Investment and Syria's Rebuilding

Turkey's investment in independent weaponry, such as drone systems, could play a future role in the rebuilding of Syria, along with investments from Qatar and other countries 27:50.

Syria's Call for Help from Neighboring Countries

Syria invites neighboring countries, including Turkey and Qatar, to help the Syrian people in their fight against the regime, expecting a lot from these states in terms of military and training support 28:12.

The New Era of Military Warfare and AI

The new era of military warfare will be dependent on AI, with UAVs and drones playing a significant role, and small countries can have a big impact if they invest in technology and industry 29:16.

Guerilla Warfare

Guerilla warfare is a type of asymmetric warfare where a smaller force uses tactics like attrition and ambushes to weaken a larger enemy, often in a rural or mountainous setting 31:10.

Urban Warfare

Urban warfare is a type of defensive warfare where a city or town is used as a "forest" to defend against a larger enemy, with examples including Gaza and the recent operation in Syria 32:25.

Asymmetric and Hybrid Warfare

The conflict in Ukraine and Russia is an example of asymmetric warfare between two states, while the conflict in Idlib is an example of hybrid warfare, which combines different tactics and strategies 34:09.

Nuclear Weapons and Deterrence

Having nuclear weapons or a mutual deterrence pact can provide a level of protection against invasion and war, but it is not the only factor, and a country can still be strong and defend itself without nuclear weapons 35:24.

Defeating a Nuclear Country without Nuclear Weapons

A non-nuclear country can potentially defeat a nuclear country if it utilizes and strategically applies its resources, such as using UAVs in the right way and at the right time 37:46.

Pakistan's Military Strength

Pakistan has a strong and modern military, concentrating on its army and utilizing its human resources effectively, with a unique and elite force, and a strong intelligence service 40:19.

Turkey's Military Industry and Production

Turkey has a fascinating military industry and production, with high-quality training for its officers, and is competing worldwide, with a good army and effective use of its relation with NATO 41:10.

Iran's Military and Geopolitical Location

Iran has a strong military due to its geopolitical location and terrain, making defense easy, and is developing its own rockets and technology, but its government's actions are hoped to be more helpful to weak countries in the future 42:04.

Priorities for the New Syria

For the new Syria, building a modern army, unifying all people who fought against the regime, and having good relations with countries that can help build the army are priorities, as well as understanding threats and the country's geopolitical location 42:44.

Allahuma barik. Amazing interview, jazakallah Khair. After listening to this brother you really see how the brothers have grown in intelligence, and military capacity. The fact that they attacked on all sides, had sleeper cells, and even had military academies is amazing

Well done 5Pillars for actually sitting down and discussing with the actual men that were on the front lines for 13 years as opposed to just speaking with people in the comforts of the west that for some reason have so many opinions despite never actually having had anything to do with syria lol. Quality content.

Love the brother's passion and well desired. Hama was text book. Luckily for us we were able to see blow by blow coverage from Syria TV on freeview.

I was very impressed by how in Afghanistan there was a tactical withdrawal, how they waged an experienced gorilla war using a friendly boarder and then uniting Afghanistan by winning over public opinion to a once war torn fractured country but Syria even by them high standards stood out.

The taking of Hama was more impressive then Panjshir though propaganda claimed that Panjshir wouldn't be taken easily or at all.

Ahmad Al-'uuda (Da'a leader from Busra AshSham) cut an impressive figure though out this conflict. I always said the regime lost the war once the people of Da'aa turned. He mobilized so quickly he was moving on Damascus before Idlib.

There was no way they could ever hold north east, east of Euphrates because regime never really had control there before any conflict. Much like Pakistan, much of the country is governed at a distance, Balochistan and the north tribal regions.

Very good work 5pillars, very good interview.
