19:00 I'm Italian and what I can say about the mafia in Italy is that most mafia-type organizations don't hire women because quote "women have feelings" and you can't afford to be empathetic if you're in the mafia.

I have seen this speil so many times I could do it in *my* sleep. How he makes it sound fresh still is amazing. Great raconteur.

Having heard these stories a few times ( yes I’m aware I’m watching it having done so ) but I do wonder whether he gets bored / tired of repeating himself.

As soon as an organization has rituals involving angels, blood and or fire, I immediately relegate them in my mind as a cult.

My bio mom whom I found thru ancestry DNA in 2017 related the story about a mobster she knew many years before on Long Island, I think this was in the 1960s or so, she had a little store of some kind and it sounded like it was a sort of mall type situation, and right there was this guy who was a mobster, I can't find his name at the moment but remember looking it up and learning he mowed down a "mark" in a restaurant in front of his family which was a big no no.
Anyway, mom said he drove a white cadillac that had bullet holes in the door, he used to ask her "Marie, will you get me a carton of cigarettes?" and give her the money to go down to the corner store for them and bring them back. He was afraid of being hit by a drive-by thus he asked her to go to the store for him.
He was a "playboy" with women, and mom was not that kind of girl and didn't play that game, but he respected her and didn't push the issue.
One night after work, her VW bug wouldn't start, so he tossed mom the keys to his cadillac and said "here, tayka my car" she was hesitant at first because of the bullet holes, but drove home in his car.
Next morning her car had already been repaired overnight!
So the guy must have had someone come and fix her car for her after normal business hours!
I used to joke with mom in my best Italian accent saying; "here, tayka my car" and she'd laugh, it was fun but scary to think about that time in her life, the guy obviously had a good/generous side.

Due to difficulties with exposure, today they're more likely to blacklist than whack.

15:45 if you're wondering how he's able to talk about all this without fear of consequences or of breaking the oath, he answers it here. so just know it's coming!

You had to be a little worried for your family. Killing a boss was a strict no no rule but they still did it.

Same old Story's. But i do enjoy listening to Michael. just wanted to point out the Anthony {Bruno} Indelicato is out now, not doing life. Apparently he's Consigliere now.

3:30 this has been violated at least once when the psycho Lucchese family bosses Amuso and Casso had Pete Chiodos sister shot to persuade him not to testify in the early 90s

I am pretty sure you need to make your bones for the mob just to be let in. It is partially a way to prove that you will do anything for the family.

"In my neighborhood, we didn't have any crime. We wouldn't allow any crime... unless it was coming from us" hahaha that's an epic answer.

People have to stop asking him if he killed someone. You don’t want to know what haunts someone the most.
