My daughter used to suffer from this every winter in Sydney, Australia! It began when she was about 9 years old on both feet and she was crippled with pain. Although she had a letter from her dermatologist, teachers at her school made fun of her saying kids don't get chilblains, only little old grannies. There's so much ignorance about this condition.

I have this on my feet for over 10 years, every winter. I tried whatever means u could think of to have it healed but in vain. But it will disappear when winter is over lol. So, before winter comes each year, i will do exercises a lot and get ur feet soaked in the warm water right before sleeping and dont sit a lot but walk even at home. Theses can definitely improve significantly as i notice that the symptoms did get less and less in recent yrs

I’ve started taking allergy tablets on advice from a medical professional when I experienced this. It helps take the edge off the itch.
Otherwise it can be so itchy, sore, painful makes it difficult to focus, sleep😢.

I've heard of this but luckily have never had to deal with this condition. Appreciate the info on it in case I ever get it. Happy Wednesday, Dr Dray! I hope you have a blessed evening. 💚

Thanks a lot for the tips and the explanation 😊 is this condition also called Raynaud? Or are they separate conditions?

I have this so bad, in the winter. Luckily I haven’t been to bad this winter but I keep socks or slippers on at all times, and don’t allow myself to go out and get to cold. Since my bad accident and all I’ve got this burning sensation that itch and get bad blisters that can bring tears to my eyes. Hurts so bad. And nobody understands lol sometimes I can’t put shoes on or walk because the ulcers are so bad. My legs was crushed and since then and after 17 surgeries on legs I have bad trauma and vascular damage

Honestly, I think I deal with it. At the start I thought that I might be having a retinol peeling, I started to use weak retinol in November. But now is January and it started a few weeks ago, so a few days ago I thought that it might be atopic dermatitis, and I was going wild. Honestly, I think it might be it. I smoke and it’s pretty cold and humid here. I gotta start exercising more, thanks for this video.

I live in South Africa in the Western Cape, where the winters are less severe, but I regularly get chilblains during the winter, whether I ware gloves or no as well as my toes, but not as bad. I am 67 and don't have Lupus.
The more concerning problem I have is that I experience the bursting of the little veins in my fingers. It occurs during summer and winter. It is painful and somehow no one have an answer to his problem. I wondered if you might have information and maybe a solution for this issue. Kind regards.

my boy only has it on his right hand. took him to a derm and he said it looks like chilblains but there isn't much to do but keep it warm. It looks so sore and it's only on the one hand that he writes with at school. Since having this I have bought him gloves to wear but it doesn't prevent them. in 2023 he started to develop this, Cape Town winters have become soooo cold. Can a deficiency cause this? We live in the same house- should I send him for any blood tests? he is 17 now and we have found over the years after he was 12/13 his body thermostat would be crazy, in hot summer weather he doesn't get hot so would be walking around in layers and in cold he would wear shorts.
