Launch Base's 1st Act theme from the Sonic & Knuckles Collection, as played back on an SC-88VL, and presented in Lossless 48000Hz 24-bit FLAC!

These recordings come from dandalyn! They offered to record the entire soundtrack on their SC-88VL unit, so I can share it, for you all to listen to. These arrangements have never sounded better, and I am so happy that dandalyn took the time to record all of these, for you all to enjoy.

These standalone uploads are being made for folk who want to add their favorite songs to their playlists. I wanted to avoid doing this, due to how many songs this soundtrack has, but a number of users have requested this for a while, so it seems only right to give what folk want.

I love how the prototype soundtrack has made everyone completely backpedal on the pc soundtrack. Like, it was universally regarded as shit, then the prototype dropped with the genesis versions of these songs, and everyone immediately reconsidered. Even Cybershell, who was particularly harsh on the pc version.

The marching snare makes the song a bit better than the proto release
Almost makes me think that whoever worked on the MIDIs was given the okay to improvise on the tracks a bit

When first played this version of the game a few years ago, I was relieved to hear this song after the pain in the ass to listen to that was IceCap Zone. Everything about this version is nice although it doesn’t exactly fit the level.
Edit: I’ve changed my opinion on IceCap Zone but still, it doesn’t sound the best. Not bad but not great.
