How Frank Wilczek made a discovery to rival Einstein, and won the Nobel Prize.

Frank Wilczek is celebrated for his investigations into the fundamental laws of nature that have transformed our understanding of the forces that govern our universe. In this video, the MIT physicist details his work with David Gross and the pursuit of an equation to rival Newton's gravity and Maxwell's electromagnetism.

Dr. Wilczek was the recipient of the 2022 Templeton Prize, which, valued at over $1.4 million, is one of the world's largest annual individual awards.

The Templeton Prize was established by the late global investor and philanthropist Sir John Templeton. It is given to honor those who harness the power of the sciences to explore the deepest questions of the universe and humankind’s place and purpose within it.

❍ About The Well ❍

Do we inhabit a multiverse? Do we have free will? What is love? Is evolution directional? There are no simple answers to life’s biggest questions, and that’s why they’re the questions occupying the world’s brightest minds.

So what do they think?

How is the power of science advancing understanding? How are philosophers and theologians tackling these fascinating questions?

Let’s dive into The Well.

Wonderful presentation. I could listen to Frank Wilczek read a computer operations manual. He is so personable but precise, reminding me of Richard Feynman with his ability to communicate the complex into understandable terms.

Wow! Not exactly sure what he is talking about but it sounds Glorious!! :D

I see everything I imagined it all in 3d and more all he explained cool I like that Tha makes so much sense in multi universes I saw something else outside like borrowing as well in slide like action of all outside our universe now like but I can prove it the math is way to large and equations are only in right now for us to see in labs and further is only in my imaginations but something really fresh maybe now I can rest for my own satisfaction any further it's endless and way bigger and so on, All :)

Imagine,

1) a force so weak that you could collide into yourself unscathed,

2) yet you fly apart wildy unless,

3) held in the PERFECT BALANCE

If that isn't paradoxical, idk what is.

I'm curious 🧐, if quacks 🦆 can give a clue as to why the relativity breaks down in black holes 🕳️. It doesn't in normal stars ✨. Do the dispersion relations start to diverge from linearity with quacks? 🦆 What if black holes are made of subquacks 🦆🍖, whose energy is somewhat different, than we might expect?

No idea what was just communicated to me but he seemed excited. 😂

An appropriate definition of gravity is “the tendency of frequencies to synchronize”

Multiple pages of esoteric equations does not reality make.
What is the reality of Quarks and their forces? How do they come to be? What defines them? What determines and limits their characteristics.
Like String theory, there is no attempt to understand natures reality, they profess their equations are reality.
When your done with that, how about electrons next.

Fascinating tie, awful shirt, interesting topic (physics PhD).

you have just listened to an equal of Einstein, Maxwell and Newton...

It is the power of the sophisticated math we have been inventing that helps model the universe we find ourselves in. We have come a long way since F=ma, F=mM/r2 and E=mc2. The physicists can't even tell us the math equations for general relativity let alone the strong force. But, rest assured, we got them.

What if there‘s people making every habit of the other one acceptable. The imperfection of human nature. The flaws of people, the basic sex as he said. Because we know 2 people equal 1 perfect match of those, if treated right. Imagine 2 together have everything, without knowing it really. What would the outcome of this 2nd test be?
If you‘re in this position to be in, you can‘t go back, otherwise giving up is the worst mistake you can make. Even tho it‘s hopeless sometimes, there‘s another perfect match waiting around the corner.
Nature is beautiful, and if one gets, he can change it. Parttime jobs, little mistakes don‘t matter in the short term. But if you don‘t remember the small things, you won‘t achieve the big picture.

I was thinking a new force was discovered and I hadn't heard about it 🤣 I'm aware of the strong force
