The current energy revolution has a lot of ideas. Biofuels are a seemingly great idea that never seems to work out well in practice - this video shows you why!

About policy, European Comission recently proposed to ban heat engines to sale by 2035.
It's a big move but I don't think it will pass. I do think that proposing something like that might help to propose something less "bold" but more efficient in the future (by that I mean, in retrospection, the new policy may sound reasonable).

It's not smart to ban EVERY heat engine; we should focus on diversifying our options; biofuels, hydrogen (even though it's not doable on a mass scale right now, and it should be produced from green electrity). Electric is a good option, but not efficient enough right now for long trips, for example (and not enough charging stations, even though thats being taken care of -in Europe at least-).

thing is the method the "1st wave" biofuels were made was between questionable to wrong - that i 100% agree? once arable land is used to grow fuel instead of food that that muddies the water a lot! however much research and progress have been done since and i really believe the future waves could actually but just be the answer for fuel but also secure energy security for nations if they have a successful, sensible and domestic biofuel production ^^ I would just mention 2 of my fav : CO2 capture to make Methanol and Nitrogen to Ammonia using lower energy/pressure techniques? Both Methanol and Ammonia are excellent Hydrogen carriers btw so they aren't limited to just being burned directly but indirectly to "crack" and produce hydrogen for use in fuel cells (which happen to work sweetly with electric propulsion btw)

Have you calculated similarly the necessary weight of batteries to convert every diesel engine machine to electric? That would be just as ridiculous as calculating the total "land" area necessary for algae-based biofuels.
I really don't think electric vehicles are the golden bullet. We will see, I guess.

Hello biofuel I believe seaweed or LG ponds might be the way to go I also see a possibility and using biogas and maybe chilling it or depressing into a it'll liquid fuel like we do for Rocket engines these are just my thoughts on the subject there's many ways to go at it I know we'll find a better at best way in a good way of solution have a great day. Summertime spelled right sorry dyslexia I use a speech to text tool so knows that doesn't quite work for me all the time have a good one.
