Issue 1 with Alt at 5 in this situation:
Marvin Harrison Jr. is available.
2: Jim Harbaugh literally wanted to trade up for Julio Jones.
3: Jim Harbaugh NEVER drafted an offensive lineman in the FIRST THREE ROUNDS when he was in SF. He can take mid round talent and coach them up.
4: They legitimately do not have a WR1 or WR2 on the team. SF had Michael Crabtree, he went and got Anquan Boldin, and Randy Moss. He also spent a 1st round pick on AJ Jenkins. Who was …. Guess what?…. A WIDE RECEIVER.
Basically OT at 5 is a lazy take. Just because BRRRR HARBAUGH PLAY PHYSICAL BRRR. Come on, dude.

The Pats just went thru having a QB who came out as "smart, high floor, good intangibles." It was a disaster. They are taking Maye or trading back.

Reason why Bolts fans are up in arms about taking an O-lineman at 5 isn’t necessarily of the idea of taking an O-line, but rather the position in the draft. If they’re taking an O-lineman, trade back to get Fuaga and Latham, especially if MHJ is off the board by then. Because the two biggest needs on the team are WR and CB. Trading back can still allow you to get an O-line while getting high value at WR and CB also. Taking Alt at 5 will neglect the other drastic needs on the team.

In all honesty, I just want whoever the Vikings pick to be the right guy, whomever that happens to be. You need a HOF level QB to win, and then I’d get to see the Vikings have one just as my dad got to see the Purple People Eaters have Fran Tarkenton

If McCarthy went 3 overall that would be WILD considering Penix is 100% a better QB. Time will tell, but I think JJ at 3 is just way too high. He will need to go to the right team in order to have a chance to succeed.

Taking LT and moving them to RT when we have a (mid) RT already and the worst WR room in the league is nuts in a normal year. But this year MHJ and Nabers are both there and we’re passing on them, too? Shit man, at least let us trade down and get a right tackle. Also, look how the Ravens draft and tell me your reasoning makes sense.

The only reason to take Alt at 5 in a heavy RT draft is if you plan on trading Slater in the near future. Its a wasted pick he can not play RT and if you really want a mauler which he isnt at right tackle you could take his Notre Dame team mate Fisher in the 2nd or 3rd. They will take Bowers or one of the Wideouts if they get stuck, i think they want a tackle in the first but its Latham and they wont reach for him, I also sometimes wonder if Jim watching Marvin for 3 years is its all smoke maybe to get him.
