Something I’m surprised not many people have mentioned yet is that the way Lala Barina scratches her abodmen to release hairs is definitely inspired by the defense mechanism of some tarantulas! When they’re threatened, they’ll scratch their abodmen and release barbed hairs meant to keep predators at bay, usually aiming them at the eyes and mouth. It’s always so exciting seeing how they incorporate real world animals into fictional beasts and Lala Barina is such a welcome addition! It’s a little too early to say yet but it might dethrone Rakna for me as my top favorite.

Bro the way the spider moves at times, the animations are so sharp. They're like a couple frames to show that distinct type of bug-like movement. Fucking creepy and really damn cool.

0:29 this monster sound horrifying and eerie. Not just that, the sound effect of some attack in this video really satisfying. Their sound design keep improving better!

Lala Barina's paralyzing florets seem to be based on how tarantulas will flick the "hairs" on their abdomen at threats to spook them and cause skin irritation, thats really cool! and it also ties nicely into the whole "beautiful but dangerous, look but dont touch" rose aesthetic. love being able to see the real world inspiration behind monster designs
