A big part of the problem is that everyone in management all the way up to the executive level has completely insulated themselves from bearing the consequences of their mismanagement their greed their poor customer service plans ... Etc that create this rage in the first place. It's not just that people are shitty, but also that the people that can fix the problem can't be reached. Customer service hotlines just route problems to someone else to people who have no power to do anything to fix anything. And when you want to talk to someone else you just get routed to somebody else that's no power to fix anything they just talk in circles and send you back to where you started. Customer facing people are by design there to Bear the brunt of the customer's anger so that corporate or management can go on doing what they have always done without having to hear from their angry customers. And when you eventually get tired of it, you quit and they almost always found someone else to take your place. Now it's not so easy. And they are mad. They are the VPs, they aren't supposed to deal with customers or face the consequences of 'just doing their job'.
