From caves to volcanoes to rainforests, Canada’s landscape is vast and varying. Jamie and Francois begin by exploring the link that link that exists between the Pacific Ocean and the coastal rainforests of British Columbia. A single species, salmon, serves as the connector between these two habitats. The team then visits the volcanic plateau of Mount Edziza in British Columbia, hiking Black Tusk Mountain, and flying over Mount Garibaldi before finally finishing with a speleology expedition to discover the hidden secrets directly under our feet in the secret underground world of caves.

I love how they've showcased so many different organizations that you can support to help protect these areas. Without our help, beautiful places like they show can be forever lost.

Oh wow! Fascinating and awe-inspiring footage. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to view this free on YouTube. Hopefully it inspires people to protect these areas, ecosystems and wildlife in perpetuity.

This is an amazing documentary! I learned a lot and as with anything, the more you learn, the more questions you have. But that's why science is so exciting! One thing I always have to remind myself, is that scientists speak as if all their suppositions, and those made before them, are stated as fact. It would be more accurately stated " we think that 65 million years Unless you were there nothing is fact. Just very informed guesswork. Fascinating guesswork. At one time I also thought that if I worked hard enough, studied hard enough I could figure out the answers to all my questions. What folly! And wouldn't it be a boring world if we could.Thank you TRACKS for bringing us the wonderful series of documentaries.

Can you imagine the bond that is formed between these men? To go where no man has gone before, even though the earth is hundreds of millions of years old. I’d be interested in seeing them together, talking among themselves about these experiences. Amazing stuff, finding microorganisms that have the power to fight the most resistant strains of bacteria. Incredible how they made the correlation of how a whole population was wiped out by how one volcanic eruption, moved, how the speed of the lava eruption encased and devoured everything in it’s path and that the toxic fumes themselves was probably what killed them. Was it fire that led the path to life in the first place? Only by these kind of people do we have this kind of information that they discovered. My mind is very busy rite now. Thank you for this! ❤

Caves are extraordinary. Research on bats is so important. I find them interesting and actually beautiful. Caves that no man has seen and cave diving. What bliss!!World. We are grateful for all the scientists, biologists, and geological scientists (good science for our world). Thank you all!! Volcanoes of BC, let's go.

When I think of these guys and the guys that wade into volcanic mug pots and geysers looking for extremophile microbes to use for medicine they really are unsung heroes
