Xbox Elite Wireless Series 2 Controller 10 month review (is it worth it in 2024?)

You hit my issues spot on. I absolutely hate that the right thumbstick doesn't properly click in that upper position. It really interferes in a high level of gameplay. I ordered a second controller thinking that I had just gotten a defective one but after seeing that you also had the same issue I may go back to the original Xbox Elite controller.

Hope you sent it in for warranty. It has a year coverage from MS.

I had my about 10 year old 360 controller I used on PC have cable contact issues, which i'm trying to draw out till I get a new one. There are some holidays near here where I live, so gotta survive with the 360 one for now. 😅

Anyway, do you, or someone happen to know (I'm not that informed about any controller features nowadays to 100% accuracy), if the normal series x controller has a battery by default or is it just AAs that it uses? On marketing it has a usb-c plug, but the extra battery and such products make me think that i'd have to get them separate? Retailers are also terrible around here to show any sort of technical details, as does on the official site...

I was thinking about the elite series 2 core for a while, just because it guaranteed has a nice battery, with long lifetime, but with all the issues I'm hearing I'm seriously reconsidering purchasing it over something cheaper and offering more for that kind of money. Other choices I was thinking about were the bare bones series x one, as above mentioned, Kingkong 3 MAX, and from a friend's recommendation X10.

Im still torn between getting it or the normal controller. Are there other rechargeable xbox controllers other than Elite without buying the rechargeable battery separately?

Careful with WD-40 it is a cleaner so it will eat through the metal
