Thanks for breaking it down Jack. I am a big guy but when ever I go to fast food I usually get more of the dollar menu items rather than the more expensive "BIG Burger" because you actually end up with more for less money.

this is from someone who works at McDonalds, the Mac jr patty and the grand Mac patties are the same size. they are a 6:1 size patty. the regular big Mac is the standard burger patty size which is a smaller 10:1 patty. and they are all only supposed to get 2 pickles. hope this helps get some more accurate information.

Good info! You'd assume that the Mac Jr. would just have the same size patty at a regular Big Mac. But, when you think about it, that would just make a regular cheese burger with secret sauce added. You could get regular cheese burger for $1 and just add special sauce for 50 cents.

I really like how you experimented with each one and calculated the mass of the sandwiches. You should consider doing multiple trials, (although costly), buying, for example, 3 sets of each sandwich for a total of 9, and measuring all of them would guarantee that the mass of each item are not due to error or outlier.

The meat patties on regular big mac are 1/10lb each uncooked, just like their regular hamburger and cheeseburger. Interesting they went with the bigger patty for the big mac jr.

As someone who works at McDonalds, the Big Mac itself is a ripoff. Big Mac is the same price as a Quarter Pounder w/ Cheese. What a Big Mac is tho, is a fancy mcdouble, that's it. You are literally paying whatever the difference between a mcdouble and a Big Mac is for the bread, sauce and lettuce because that's the only difference.
