Interesting choices that I don’t think are quite accurate. I have lived in Kelowna for over 20 years and I know that it is not that cheap to live here. As a matter of fact it is catching up to Vancouver. My son moved back to Kelowna from Japan with his family in 2020. They lived with me for two years, but ended up going back because they could not afford to get their own place. Now, you did not even mention Winnipeg, where I come from. I have been seriously considering moving back because it is so much cheaper there. A house that costs $800, 000 in Kelowna can be found in Winnipeg for about half that. Groceries are cheaper, gas is cheaper, utilities are cheaper, etc. I go back every few years to visit and I was actively checking housing prices online less than 6 months ago so I am very familiar with the cost of living difference. Also, Kelowna has the worst transit system. You really need a car to get to certain neighbourhoods and some routes do not even run on Sundays. I grew up riding the bus in Winnipeg so I was quite shocked at how bad it is here.

When you consider income tax rates there are no reasonable places to live in Canada. I am looking at Spain now.

The answer is Saskatchewan. If you are a landlord. Nipawin Saskatchewan is probably one of the more expensive to profit as it is growing quite quickly from logging, tourism, has award winning restaurants.

Many years ago we lived in Fredericton New Brunswick. My sister lived in Saint John and we loved the city. Surprised to see the decline in population. My husband and I are retired and wish to get out of Mississauga (Toronto). I think next spring we will take a quick trip to Saint John and maybe that will be our new home. Thank you

I live in a hole in the wall in Vancouver, but the rent is locked in at what I paid originally 10 years ago. My biggest expense now is food, which is expensive everywhere now.
You can't move for free, so make damn sure your relocating is going to work in the long run.
