Can you connect Android Smart watch to 02 4G network | Samsung Galaxy Watch

busy shopping for a new smart watch and was trying to find out if this was possible as I'm also on 02, really helpful, thanks!

O2 Samsung Watch Plan is 5GBP per month (in addition to your Phone Plan cost) but you need to go to an O2 store with your phone and watch and they will set it all up (don't bother trying to do it by calling up Customer Services as you will get passed around as CS staff don't seem to know how to get everything set up).

With O2 you need to leave your phone on and in a place with signal, as on O2 the watch uses the esim plan 4G connection to connect to your phone and then uses your phone plan's inclusive minutes and text on your watch (which I personally don't mind and quite like but that's just my opinion). If you switch your phone off and leave it at home then go out with your watch you will not be able to make or receive calls or texts.

The watch 3 lte will work with o2 only if you buy the watch from o2, if you bought elswhere it will not, ee and vodaphone have the carrier details in the firmware, o2 do a patch before the watch is sent to the shops, if you bought watch elswhere then the watch is classed as open network and will not connect to network, misleadind info from everyone, they dont want to tell you it dosent work with o2, you here lucky to get that info very quick, took me 3 months to find this info.

i am on EE have the note 20 ultra 5G Bronze, Also have the galaxy watch 3 45MM works fine on the 4G EE network. thats why i left 02 years ago. i joined EE on sim only first. 02 is a million light years away lol

Just looking into this was there a option where you could take the E E plan for the watch and connect your 02 phone?

I had mine connected to the Vodafone network in UK but as soon as I switched to Orange, I can't connect it anymore to the 4g. It's sad because that is such a cool and usefull feature 😔

The Samsung Galaxy watch is only available on LTE in the U.K. on EE and VODAFONE you can use the watch on any android phone providing you have the app on your phone but on other networks you can only use Bluetooth it tells you on the Samsung website it’s an agreement with Samsung no other mobile networks in the are in partnership with Samsung for the 4G connection

I have a 1st gen galaxy watch S square shaped and curved screen....it has a sim card slot and I can put any PAYG sim in it and works fine....atrocious battery life though....

18th May 2022 / Tried for over 6 weeks to connect Galaxy 4 LTE to O2 without any luck, even after visiting local store. Have cancelled ALL O2 contracts and gone with EE. Took less than 1 minute to get contract and connect. No problems so far. O2 are useless.

I am literally facing the same issue now and also I have a p30 pro mobile like you 😀, I really can't figure out a way to connect it in standalone mode. The network provider says your phone should be able to support esim because a physical sim cannot be used if esim is activated, did you find out a way to get this issue fixed?
