I'm from Dublin Ireland and I'll never forget that day. I was 10 years old. Just came home from school (we are 5 hours ahead of New York), and I remember walking into my living room and seeing my parents watching the news in shock. Then I ran upstairs to put my bag away and go the bathroom, and as I was I coming back downstairs I heard my mother screaming as the second plane hit. Even at 10 years of age I remember feeling so heartbroken for the victims. A truly tragic day that will never leave my memory unfortunately.

September 11th is the date the news media should be encouraging the nation to remember. Not January 6th.

For those who have fallen in that tragic day RiP 🙏. And those still suffering the effects from it may you stay strong. And for the rest of us we will never forget.

I lived in NYC during 911 and as horrible and tragic as it was, it was amazing how patriotic and loving everyone was to each other in the days that followed.

RIP to the heroes that passed since after 9/11 up until recently due to complications of rescuing while exposed to the pulverization!🥺🙏🕊

I had just brought my son home from the hospital after almost losing him. My heart was heavy for all of the families who lost loved ones. The horror.

I’m from the UK, I wash only a child but remember feeling the pain as if it was my own country and I still do until this day.

I remember being in 7th or 8th grade when this happened. The first 2 hours of school most of us just cried. Most of my classmates saw it on the news and we were pretty devastated.

I'm a Canadian that has lived in the US for 13 years, i remember vividly watching it on tv, everywhere you went in Canada there was people walking around in shocked disbelief, they could barely even talk about it because it was so horrible.

Baruch HaShem 22 years later 🙏🏻. I was 11 days shy of my 18th birthday and 2 wks into my freshman year of college. We nearly lost someone that day too but the lady has nine lives and came to work 5 mins late, never even made it into her building as a coworker ran over, grabbed her hand and screamed for her to run. Plane hit just above her floor in the south tower. Every second of that day is seared into my brain. God bless America!

I'm not even American and I will never forget that horrible day. I was getting ready for class and my grandmother was watching the news and she said "America is at war!"... I didn't understand what she meant until I went down and saw one of the WTC towers had been attacked. And minutes later I remember the sick feeling of watching live a second plane crash into the other tower. At first the reporter thought it was a repetition of the first attack from another angle but seeing the other tower already burning we realised that was live footage of a second attack. Complete shock. But what's most imprinted in my mind is the despair of the people trapped on the floors above the impact with no chance of getting down, waving and calling from the windows and some jumping off, an unimaginable horror. Hard to believe it's been 22 years when the memory is still so fresh, I don't think I've ever seen anything on the news that shook me more. Many believe there's a lot about that event that doesn't add up, and incidentally or not the aftermath of that day laid much of the foundation for the surveiled world and shady policies that threaten our rights and our freedoms today, which regard any person as a potential enemy of the establishment. There was an undeniable shift that day, like a time before and a time after.

The 3-weeks after 9/11 were still surreal to me 22 years later, there were no political parties, skin color, or social status, everyone was purely just American.

I'm from the Dominican Republic, and I was 6 years old when this happened. In an era where there was no social media, the world wasn't as connected as it is today, yet that event was being televised everywhere. I remember the people staying in their houses, or in the cellars (colmados) watching the tv, witnessing this event. That's how impactful it was, it reached everyone even though techology was not that advanced yet.

For those of us who witnessed it it will forever remain like yesterday in our minds. I can still remember the day, Tuesday. The weather. Sunny and beautiful. The air. Crisp and clean morning air. The deafening silence amongst my peers which continued on for weeks after.
The last conversations I had with people I lost that day still echo in my head. The uneasy feeling in my stomach that resurfaces every year, on this day.
We will never forget

I remember being at work that morning and my plant manager was having a panic attack because his ex wife worked in tower 1 and he could not get hold of her. Living in Ohio, it was almost not real to see it happening on TV. But witnessing what it done to that man made it as real and as painful as anything. I still see the fear on his face as that tower came down as we had all stopped working and were glued to the television in our break room. To see grown men trying to comfort the man they feared and respected as he had to accept the fact his children had just lost their mother will forever be my first thought every September 11th. I hate this day because it reminds me how horrible this world really is.

My most vivid memory, which still to this day brings pain to my heart, is a father wandering the streets through the night with a picture of his daughter looking and asking everyone had they seen her. The pain and trauma of this man was so real and palpable i could feel it. It broke my heart. I don't know his name or that of his daughter but i remember him every time 9/11 is even mentioned or the memorial shown.

Big thank you to the Canadians who helped the American passengers whose flights were grounded up north because of the attacks. You housed and fed them on your own accord and we Americans are very grateful. Also a thank you to the British across the pond for playing our anthem at the Buckingham Palace to ease the hearts of the Americans there. Thank you much, our friends and brothers!
