The problem with this comparison is that he is not an expert level user of Max nor Maya. There are so many statements that are simply false. It's not that Max can't do some of these things, it's that he doesn't know how to use Max...

What would be really educational for people is to have two experts, one Maya and one Max go through comparable features. Then go through the unique features and plugins of each.

the modifier stack in 3ds max is simple and straightforward - you can enable or disable the results and see the final result, and if you like it just collapse and everything is cleared, only the finished object remains..in max you do and collapse without leaving traces and garbage

Where is the modifier stack? This is a basic advantage of Max over Maya. You can add a chamfer modifier over a edit poly, change dynamically the selections that will affect the chamfer, changing the geometry, that will affect the chamfer and in the top a OpenSubdiv that will change also real time. In the middle you can add a Taper modifier etc etc.

Nice unbiased basic function comparison, though you left out "the stack" that 3dsmax has which is a powerful tool, that in a way makes a different type of history unique to max, unlike the node based history of Maya. example, you can add another Edit poly modifier, turn on animate, and it will let you adjust a say a chamfer after the operation is done. Which in a way could compare to a node based memory. Not in the same way, but it's there if you need it. The stack also has a set of modifers you apply to meshes.

max modifier stack is infinitely more useful and flexible than Mayas history and therefore makes it a more suitable tool for modelling complex projects. You neglected the essential difference here. For all of the rest Maya has more advanced tools and its very modular/compartmented (you have Xgen, Bifrost, Mash etc). I dare to say that its very modelling tools are more refined at this point than max ones but thats just because they got more attention in the last 2 releases. Also another important difference is how Maya handles curves whch is quite horrible compared to max. Max also have more parametric objects for Architectural stuff and works very well and its suppose to work with CAD applications from Autodesk (Revit, Autocad, inventor). Thats another big difference right here.

If you use the Graphite modeling ribbon in 3dsmax, the workflow will be a lot more similar to Maya. There are icons for all the modeling operations, which can be bound to hotkeys as well. I feel like using the command panel in Edit Poly is the slower, older way to work in Max. All the same tools and more can be found in the ribbon with Icons. In fact, there are a lot of tools in the ribbon which do not have a corresponding operation in the Command panel alone.

For the game dev. and character modelling blender or maya(with animation modelling rigging) wihich one I need to use ?

I have a max animation on my channel.Honestly, there is nothing max cant do.Its just the limitations of your hardware that may restrict you.

Well i dont really know much about 3dmax, but recently i have a chance to work in a company that use maya (before that i work using blender for 3 years). Its way different since the company have a custom solution for their pipeline the one that i seem can't to find in youtube. I finish a job that i usually need 3 month of work using blender in just a week using maya and in a quality that can't be achieved in blender.

Sorry, but you are incorrect about Max can't change later that extrude you made in the example.
I's done by using Edit Poly modifier, and activating "Animate" option on it, then you make your extrude.
Optionally you can rename the Edit Poly modifier to "Extrude"
Then you use another Edit Poly modifier and continue your editing.
In any moment you can change the extrude parameters by returning to that Edit Poly modifier and clicking on the Settings button in it. This can be used whit any other tool too.

I'm a 3d student and I'm in my final year I'm using 3ds MAX but I want to know if it is easy to animate in Maya or 3ds.

Max has a better feel when modelling. Maya feels a bit woolly. Only thing about max it's always trying to smooth everything. History in max comes from the stack. Box, poly mode, bend, poly mode. Turn them on or off when you want.

Max, Maya, Cinema4d, Blender or any other 3d packages are the same they are just tools and the main factor is the artistic and the creative side of the user

I came from Blender and tried out Maya, only to realize how different the two are. The attributes I change for an object stack up in Maya's object manager (it becomes a nuisance!! So use Alt+Shift+D (while all objects are selected) OFTEN!. Also it's not very versatile for modeling but it's getting there as of the past few years. I'm moving to Max now because the modifiers are like Blender but more extreme.
Maya, I hear (havent tried yet) has better animation tools, especially Maya 2019.
Max has a substantially larger set of small tools for modeling anything materials, and that's where my interest is set at.
Also the texturing and shading is better in 3DS max so far. I've used Hypershade (found in Windows -> Rendering -> Hypershade) in Maya more but Slate seems better so far for the little I've used it. Although, I just use Substance Painter which is better than both of these in terms of photorealism.

One question, why is everyone using 3Ds max for architecture designs instead of maya. As a maya user, i want to know will i ever get the same look and conveniency in the project with maya ? Or should i start working with max ?
