At the very center of history’s stage stands Jesus Christ. He has no peers. The Father in heaven sent Him on the mission of redemption and He humbly surrendered. When it was accomplished, He conquered death itself by resurrection and returned to glory. In what is considered by many to be the greatest single statement about Jesus Christ in the New Testament, Paul succinctly framed His humiliation, His exaltation, and His example to us.

This teaching is from the series 20/20: Seeing Truth Clearly with Skip Heitzig from Calvary Church

Skip I love the fact that your church does those alter calls. I love what God is doing with you and through your ministry. I also delight in the idea that you show them next steps after accepting Christ. I was just telling my wife our church needs to do that. An action plan for after baptism. Great work keep doing God's will!

James Moffat's respected translation reads "Though he was divine by nature, he did not set store upon equality with God but emptied himself by taking the nature of a servant". Many other translations read that Jesus did not try and 'grasp equality' rather than already BEING equal with the Father, infact the OPPOSITE! ( Note; Since Paul uses 'morphe' for both Jesus prehuman and human nature, this surely rules out the the use of 'morphe' ( form) doesnt mean that Jesus was God, in the same way, He wasnt always a man either!

Great sermon and I fully get that Jesus is God come to earth but I struggle to understand how He is also Son and God is His Father. How can Jesus sit next to Himself in heaven! Genuine question! .

I went to Philippians 2:5-11 in the 'New Living Translation" and the words you spoke and had on the screen at 10:00 minutes into this video were not the same words as in that version of the Bible. What version were you quoting?

hilippians 2:5–6 — King James Version (KJV 1900)
5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

Philippians 2:5–6 — New Living Translation (NLT)
5 You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.

6 Though he was God,
he did not think of equality with God
as something to cling to.
Notice how far from original greek the NLT. Translation has gone.
THINK: though he was God, did not think of equality with God. What babble is that.
Jesus was in the same form (spirit form) as God. But did not consider him self equil to his Father, all mighty God.
Now, remind me what trinity says?

NKJV, MASB, NASB, and 200ore books that slap my Lord and Jesus Christ right in the face and continue to nails.. We dont need a need a bunch of books written by heretics teaching that blashemes my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Ill take 5 at this point tl collect myself. Brothers and sisters if hou want to go thru your life giving your Lord and Savior praise, honor, glory and lift Him up, then do it with the KJV The Holy Biblnore ourk afnlpof nlind Him with risty filthy, infected nails
