SF evolution has a kinda complicated early history because of the managing direction of making many recycled releases in the franchise's 2d era. It kinda makes its 35 year legacy less solid than some long running franchises that had much less recycled releases like Mortal Kombat, Tekken, Soul Calibur, etc.

I think it isnt a good idea to aim for a complete coverage in this case of SF, because there are a lot of recycled releases that just cannot express any evolution. I mean SF2 Champion Edition isnt like Mortal Kombat 2, Tekken 2, Virtua Fighter 2, Fatal Fury 2, Samurai Shodown 2, etc... All of these are follow ups worth of mention. To me, for future comparisons it's better to pick one version of the same game and skip the others. Or like pick the first SF2 version and skip to SSF2T only if it's to highlight the super moves.

Let me guess, the next Street Fighter character you're gonna do is Ken, right?
