Fungus fly larvae from wild oyster mushrooms (tiny bacon)

Показать описание
Fungus gnat larvae from wild oyster mushrooms after soaking mushrooms a 30 minutes - couple hours before cooking. These tiny bacon strips won’t hurt you if cooked well so medium heat for 10-15 minutes is recommended. Choose your fat with a pinch of pink salt, fresh ground pepper and a sprinkle of chili. We try different chilies with every dish to give our mushrooms a flavorful experience. I wish you all a microbe friendly diet. Eat the rainbow and don’t cook the hell out of it! Grow abundantly, live regeneratively and eat rationally.

Brought home some winter oysters this week and kept them in a container in the fridge, went to go check them out and some of these little white worms were in the container. YUCK. Yucky Yucky YUCK!! It doesn't matter that these mushrooms grow up high in a tree they've got these bugs. Sheesh. I might be going back to store bought now.

I found a bunch of peach colored worms in a huge Lion's mane this morning. I mean a bunch! Ive never seen so many. The fruiting body had a off smell so i had to discard it. Bad day when you have to throw away a Lion's Mane.

I got two large tree mushrooms-brought them home in an open grocery bag. I set it in the kitchen floor- about an hour later, there were 300 of these white worms on the kitchen floor.the crazy thing about these, they jump ! It’s true. The next time you find these set them on a linoleum or tile floor- they jump to get around! Crazy- I took the mushrooms outside- they were still coming out

When you pick a wild oyster mushroom should i leave the base of the mushroom on the tree? Or take the whole thing off? I'm wondering how to insure more mushrooms grow again in the same spot if possible. Any help is much appreciated.

Do you add anything into the water for soaking and how long do you soak for? I found some oysters for my first time but wasnt sure how to rid the mushrooms from the larva I found. I did soak for a bit but definitely not long enough

Can you add salt to the water? Will that damage the flavor?

Been eating wild Oyster mushrooms for years in the pnw and today was the first time I saw the worms! Many of the mushrooms were getting close to being to slimy so they probably flushed longer than a day ago. Thanks for the informative video, I’m soaking the second half of my batch now.
