This story is so horrific. I read also that widows with property were accused so the accuser could acquire the property. Mostly it is a great way for insecure men to get rid of women they are intimidated by or jealous of. I also wonder if the term "black magic" (referring to baneful magic) came from accusing African Americans of witchcraft. 😢
