I'm not Amish :) I avoid new versions (including New King James) because they have missing and twisted verses. I believe that the 7th major edition of AKJV (circa 1900) or PCE is pure and perfect, but it's difficult to find these days in print and without typos. The one I bound is PCE and free of errors. Most importantly, God led me to do it. It's a long story, I tried to explain it little bit in this video.

I think it weighs about 5 pounds. It’s more like a family Bible. I think that thinner paper (less than 20#), with soft covers would be easier to carry around. You could also change the printer setting to print smaller pages or use a different text format (check bibleprotector site). This project was truly a blessing, I hope this will inspire other people to bind the Bible.

This is a great video, nice techniques you show here. This would be a great family project as you suggested, making a true 'family heirloom'. I looped the song 'Ancient Words' by Christian Edition as I watched, a fitting anthem for such a project! God Bless You!

Are you Amish? There are many well made bibles available on line that will last a life time, I can't understand why you think that this is a good idea.
