If one watches elderly loved ones SUFFER for YEARS with debilitating conditions, one becomes less judgmental of this sort of choice being made, especially for a couple in their 90s.

We should have this "right".
No one can say someone
Else has not suffered enough. This forces people to "choose" suicide. No one wants to talk about how many elderly people are in fact left with this "choice". What this couple chose is medical compassionate care.

Dying does NOT have to be ugly, lonely, or traumatic. They are above, dancing & loving each other as before. Beautiful ❤

They did exactly what my Husband and I would want t to do. I have severe RA and Osteoarthritis, diabetes, and terrible back pain and smoked for 50 yrs.
My husband is 10 yrs older than I (76) me (66) and I can’t imagine my life without him. My body is already deteriorating and I am scared to death of living alone. We would definitely choose this very humane way to part this world.

This reminds me of the movie The Notebook. They both died in their sleep together.

May the Lord give this beautiful couple his peace. I'm a retired VA nurse. I've held hands as people have passed. I'm certainly not on this earth to judge anyone. I've got some mixed feelings as a person of faith.
God bless this beautiful couple. May our Lord.give them his peace.

I just bought your book trying to prepare for the inevitable with my Dad. I’ve not gotten into it yet but I want to *”Thank You”* in advance for writing it!
I tend to deteriorate mentally & physically from loss more than the average person this I avoid thinking about it. Then when loss happens I literally loose my mind and have great difficulty functioning. I’m hoping your book and a few others will help.
Thanks, Julie❤

Nurse Julie, what a wonderful way to leave this world. My boyfriend of 5 years who is now my husband of 59 years and I have been talking about dying together in our sleep holding hands for most of our married life. We truly hope that we can!

That is a beautiful life story, I saw this sort like situation long time ago in the movie Bicentennial Man with robin williams. That scene set me and my husband in tears and would wish the same thing for us one day, a good thing to plan things indeed or at least think about it seriously.
Thank you for sharing 🧡

My parents met in February and married May 4th. Mom passed after 10 years of dementia and were married 59 years. Dad lasted another 8 years shockingly. Both passed on hospice. Very grateful for the care they received.

We married at 20 and 21. We are now 59 and 61! I worry about one of us having to leave the other behind. It happened with my parents and she died eight months after he did. I love the idea of growing old together then just slipping away side by side. Thank you for sharing Julie!

I so agree with you. I bawled my eyes out. As I see it, animals who suffer are put down. I see no difference. It is so hard to see elderly parents suffer, from my own personal experience.

I had two dear friends who were sisters, one widowed, one divorced, they both decide to share a house together, for years they did everything together, not only shared a house, but worked together, holiday's together and one cared for the other during illness, the older sister passed away and less than 7 months later the second sister passed away, to this day i believe she died of a broken heart!
