What a steal! A player of that calibre shouldn't go for less than 3 shipping containers.

In Romania also there is a transfer of sausage

To be honest, a transfer of what is essentially worth nearly 6, 000€ should be a lot of money even for a Romanian second division club.

I think they overpaid. No way he's worth more than 1 ½ shipping containers.

in the 90's in Romania 3rd division one team bought 3 players from another team with 2 brand new Dacia automobiles at the time...the buyer promoted in 2nd division than in 1st division, so a good deal

Sidenote just in case someone was wondering: Viitorul Pandurii is a different team from the Pandurii you might know from European competitions in the 2010s, that Pandurii is dead and the current Viitorul Pandurii is a random team that decided to rename itself that for no real reason.

Other note:In communist times there were actually more deals like this as transfers would be discussed between local party representatives so sometimes extra allotments of X thing would be used as a way to sweeten the deal iirc. This one was this year though

I wouldn't be surprised if the containers were bought at Cameroon for a few hundred bucks.

They just watched Semi-Pro with Will Ferrell and were like: "I wonder if we could trade one of our players for household appliances." They just overshot slightly.

Reminds me of Di Maria, he was bought by Rosario Central (when still a teenager) for 26 footballs in compensation for his neighbourhood club and for him to play to Rosario's ranks

And there’s also more space in the home changing room because there’s 1 less player to accommodate.
