Earthbound is a shitpost from 1995.

I'm not kidding.

I mean, you've got all these super epic RPGs on the SNES. Ones where you use magic that time forgot to counter an ever-increasing presence of technology. Or how about travelling back in time to fix various problems with the timeline?

And then there's this game. "idfk u got psychic abilities go destroy the embodiment of evil or smth"

Not to say that's a bad thing. Hell, it's a good thing. Shitposts are the embodiment of creativity. Just look at all the creative edits that have come out of the internet in the past 5 years
