THERE S MORE THAN WORDS IN CONVERSATION: THE INTERPLAY BETWEEN NONVERBAL COMMUNICATION AND PSYCHOLOG

Our attention tends to be on what people say. However, any form of communication includes nonverbal aspects that are well known to account for social and psychological phenomena underlying interaction, whether this latter takes place between humans or between humans and machines. This talk will introduce the problem of nonverbal communication and will show how Artificial Intelligence can automatically detect and interpret nonverbal cues in the same way as humans do when interacting with one another.
