Regarding having customers give you the stump dimension, you might want to keep in mind that some will tend to measure the narrowest part of the stump, or they may "guess" the size of their stump (which frequently tends to significantly smaller than it actually is). I know the feeling of getting taken advantage of..Doing alot of work for less money in the hopes of getting more business. I stopped that, , I got calls asking for me to come over that day.. I asked to let me know afew days in advance..Then they wouldn't pay me when I was finished with the job. Luckily only twice I dealt with that kind of treatment. Now I know days in advance I saw the stump and they pay me when I go..
