The band Okean Elzy was founded in 1994 by four young men from Lviv and is the most famous and most decorated Ukrainian rock band.
The band vividly express themselves through in-depth lyrics, a unique musical style, and an impressive on-stage drive and energy.
On 7 March 2022, during the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, Okean Elzy's lead singer Vakarchuk joined the territorial defense battalion of Lviv Oblast.
In September 2005, Vakarchuk became the UN's Ambassador of Good Will.
During the Football World Cup 2006 in Germany, Okean Elzy actively supported the Ukrainian national team and cheered the fans with their songs. The last song of the band called Veseli, brate, chasy nastaly... ("Oh, brother, merry times came...") made a huge splash in Ukraine. The song and the video were released as a single and all profits were donated to the child care center treating AIDS. Charity activities play a major role in OE's life.

La banda Okean Elzy fue fundada en 1994 por cuatro jóvenes de Lviv y es la banda de rock ucraniana más famosa y engalardonada.
La banda se expresa vívidamente a través de letras profundas, un estilo musical único y un impulso y energía impresionantes en el escenario.
El 7 de marzo de 2022, durante la invasión rusa de Ucrania de 2022, el cantante principal de Okean Elzy, Vakarchuk, se unió al batallón de defensa territorial del Óblast de Lviv.
En septiembre de 2005, Vakarchuk se convirtió en Embajador de Buena Voluntad de la ONU.
Durante la Copa Mundial de Fútbol de 2006 en Alemania, Okean Elzy apoyó activamente a la selección nacional de Ucrania y animó a los fanáticos con sus canciones. La canción de la banda llamada Veseli, brate, chasy nastaly... ("Oh, hermano, llegaron tiempos felices...") causó un gran impacto en Ucrania. La canción y el video fueron lanzados como single y todas las ganancias fueron donadas al centro de cuidado infantil que trata el SIDA. Las actividades benéficas juegan un papel importante en la vida de OE.
