Today, we visited the Wieliczka Salt Mine in Krakow, which is over 700 years old & is regarded as the world's longest active salt mine. Not only that, it is about 327 meters deep below the ground and extends via horizontal passages and chambers for over 287 kilometres. This makes Wieliczka Salt Mine one of the most unique attaractions in the world, which you cannot miss while in Krakow. The mines are home to lifelike salt statues and figurines that have stood the test of time. And if you feel Wieliczka Salt Mine cannot surprise you any more, you are wrong. It has a tasting fountain for tourists who want to sample the salty water, beware it's really salty. It also boasts of having the only underground chapel in the world, which can be booked for weddings.
