Ok. Here's the deal with opening the small bottle of gorilla glue with the twisty 2 part cap. Unlike Elmers glue where you untwist the top a bit and glue comes out, with gorilla glue you take the top piece COMPLETELY OFF and then use the glue. It's a 2 part lid. Took me about a half hour to figure this out. Sure would be nice to have the directions on the bottle.

Great stuff...BUT only buy the SMALL bottle rather than the large one. Why? Because the stuff goes bad quickly. I have have lost half a large bottle -- it gets very thick and hardens -- so I started buy the small ones and even there, they don't have a great shelf life. I have even taken to storing them upside down so the air inside the bottle is at the back of the glue, not at the front so if anything, the back will get bad before the glue near the tip. That seems to give it a bit more longevity. Wish they'd make a bottle cap that was wide so you could easily store the bottle upside down, having it sit on its cap.

I thought you only dampen one surface and apply the glue (a small amount) to the other surface.
Have the directions changed? I remember reading the instructions on the bottle I had, but it is long gone now and I need to buy some more.
I thought it starts foaming like crazy once it contacts water therefore you applied it to the dry surface and dampened the other surface. Then clamp then together and the foaming starts.

Ok, so how do you get the top off? All over the web everybody is asking but nobody is answering!

The clamping aspect is a bit off-putting because there are many things that can't be easily clamped. I'm thinking of 2 awkwardly vertical objects like sticking a handle to a door. It's a shame really as need something that's both waterproof and strong, but without the clamping. Need advice or recommendations people!

I bought one but it's thick as molasses and won't pass through the applicator like on the video. I have to open it and use a stick or something to use it and it's a mess. It's something wrong with my glue?

This didn't work to glue back in a small piece of washing machine door seal that had torn off. Disappointed. Made a little mess. When I did a YouTube search on making such a repair ad for Gorilla Glue popped up.

I hate gorilla glue on anything. It is not a cure all, people. It is a screw up the repair as much as you can, so the next guy has to clean it all back off for a proper repair glue. It usually fouls the surface for the next repair, lessening the chances of a proper repair.
